Installed the alsa sound utility and now I have sound on the Ubuntu side
of my iMac.

I am using Ubuntu 10.4 and now have sound at the audio headphone jack

I have an iMac with intel processor. Taking out the suspend mode from power
option fixed the problem. Thank you for your reply.
