Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: dkms
in the file /etc/dkms/template-dkms-mkdeb/debian/control the build
requirement for dkms is missing . Without it, builds of packages made
with mkdeb or mkdsc in launchpad will fail because the file
/usr/lib/dkms/common.postinst is not found.

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: dkms
in the file /etc/dkms/template-dkms-mkdeb/Makefile the line:
chmod 644 -R $(SRC)/$(NAME)-$(VERSION)
renders the sources useless. DKMS uses the user nobody for the build process,
but it is not possible for him to go into the source
Never mind, I can live with my fixed version in my PPA.

No I can't currently provide a log, because of lack of time. I am not a
native english speaker, but I think my explanation made it clear that I
didn't talk about the Depends: tag, but the Build-Depends: tag.
What sense would make the Depends: tag during a build on launchpad? I
totally disagree

Isn't this what lirc-modules-source package is for?
No, lirc-modules-source builds all the lirc-modules again that are
already part of the kernel, because it uses dkms. Don't think about it
as something like a lirc-dev
Public bug reported:
The header lirc.h is missing in the package linux-
headers-2.6.31-16-generic. It is needed to compile external lirc
modules. In linux-source-2.6.31 the file is present.

I'm no longer using Gutsy. With Hardy I haven't experienced that problem
yet. So I'll mark it fixed. Thank you!

For the installed Gutsy the problem has vanished as described.

Can't determine which one of the numbers is the PCI ID. The whole part
concerning the video controller reads:

After searching the net from an other PC I did the following in the meantime:
- sudo apt-get install xorg-driver-fglrx
- edited xorg.conf (left only the resolutions, that my monitor supports).
Now during boot up the screen is still black when the Uguntu logo should

I used the Install in text mode from the menue of the Live DVD, which

Glad I can contribute in some way.
It is possible to boot into safe graphics mode off the live CD. After
that boot process Ctrl+Alt+F1 starts a terminal (full screen). Only I
don't know how to terminate it other than with 'reboot', which is
certainly not a bug of the beta.

Sorry! What I told you above is wrong. I had the 7.04 disk in my drive.
It is NOT possible to boot into safe graphics mode off the Xubuntu 7.10

working, but nothing happened. I don't have the Ubuntu CD available

Binary package hint: clearsilver-dev
clearsilver-dev doesn't contain any files beside docs:

/usr/share/doc/clearsilver-dev/README.Debian
/usr/share/doc/clearsilver-dev/copyright
/usr/share/doc/clearsilver-dev/changelog.Debian.gz
this is the case at least for dapper, I see now that edgy is more uptodate.
Any chances for a backport?
