I have the same problem with Firefox 3 under Kubuntu 8.04 (with KDE 3). I had
nothing the the Applications section in Preferences since the early betas.
I have tired reinstalling Firefox 3 and purging all profiles and plug-ins (and
such) with no positive result.
Now I am using the latest

I am currently running Kubuntu Hardy development and for about a month I have
not had that problem. Before it used to happen quite frequently - at least once
a day.
May be it got fixed by some of the updates.

Here is a picture of my settings.
But I think that the bug can be closed since i checked and the powersave

When the laptop switches to battery power and the kde-guidance-powermanager

I have the same problem. NetworkManager eats up most of the CPU and after some
time the system becomes quite slow.
If I kill it with killall -9 NetworkManager and start it again it is OK. But
this has happened to me several times already!

I am rinning 32bit Kubuntu 7.10 RC1 and I have a similar problem. If I
check for updates and click on the Version Upgrade button in Adept the
upgrade starts and I am told that there some unsupported packeges. After
that it tells me that there is no upgrade available and reverts all the
cnahges

The same on Ubuntu 7.10 with all updates as of this moment (15.10.2007 UTC
10:56) with Intel GMA 950 video card.
The gnome-terminal and some other applications wont start.Here is a list of
some of the: update-manager, the add/remove programs thing, but Synaptic manger
is working.
