I had the similar problem with Fedora 20, gnome 3.12 and I was able to
find a workaround and was able to work hipporemote. I think that the
same workaround will work with Ubuntu 14.04 but not sure you could try.
I used dconf-editor and under org.gnome.desktop.remote-access you will
find a key

When I drag and drop an image from Firefox to the desktop (or to a

I installed these fonts via Synaptic in 8.04 and they are not recognized
