I seem to be having this problem on a Toshiba Satellite A200 1 GB. The
CPU heats up to 78C (in Windows it never gets past 70C) at max usage,
then the laptop shuts down. Sometimes it even refuses to boot for
several minutes after I shut it down (presumably until it cools down). I
can confirm this
The same thing happens with me on Intrepid (i.e. works fine with pppd,
but network-manager freezes the system). FYI I have a Toshiba Satellite
A200 1GB, connecting via PPP with a Telemodem Z020.

I'm running gutsy on a Toshiba A200 1GB and this happened to me also
after this morning's upgrade to the latest packages (the upgrade brought
in kernel 2.6.22-12, but the problem might be in another package).
Fn+F6 and Fn+F7 (decrease/increase brightness) don't work anymore, even
though I can set

I managed to get bluetooth working by loading the omnibook module
(http://omnibook.sourceforge.net/) with ectype=12. Still, I guess it
would be nice to have direct kernel support...

I can confirm the same thing happens on my Toshiba Satellite A200 1GB,
running Kubuntu gutsy. When I press the Fn+Mute keys the on-screen
displays shows Mute on, but the sound isn't turned off. Right click on
the taskbar icon - Mute doesn't work either. KMix shows no Mute
buttons above the channel
