This happens to me with kubuntu feisty fawn booting from the cd. Almost everything crashes, (e.g., trying to launch konsole), but konqueror does so constantly. The installer actually ran, though it was a pain to go through with the constant popups. Booting off of the installed system results in konqueror crashing when starting X and a lost gui session. Going to a console I can launch X manually, but konqueror crashes constantly as do other kde applications. The console from which I started X showed errors trying to open /dev/input/wacom; xf86OpenSerial (three times) and "Could not init font path element" for /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc, cyrillic, and Type1
