Added to the boot scripts "rm 70-persistent..." kinda clunky but it
deletes the old 70-persistent file on boot, preventing this problem from
reoccuring if you switch the flash drive between computers.

here's a thought: this problem may result from switching a flash drive
from one Sign to another...the MAC addresses on the two Signs would be
different, causing a new wlan to be set up...

somehow, 70-persistent-net-rules gets multiple entries (with multiple
wlan* entries with everything identical but the MAC address, which is
different on each entry).
this bug happens sometimes on first boot, sometimes on subsequent boots.
not consistently.
