on ubuntu 16.04 or ubuntu 18.04,
sudo apt-get install vnc4server
then run vncserver
the ~/.vnc/xstartup file was created as follow:
$ cat ~/.vnc/xstartup
#!/bin/sh

moreover: ubuntu14.04 and ubuntu17.10 have no this problem. and the ubuntu
16.04 is not reached EndOfLife now
we need fix it~
Patch fixed my Dell M6500 (same as reported above) - thanks!
Touchpad also seems fine, but less sensitive than before 10.10 upgrade
from 10.04. Haven't looked into fixing this yet through other means.
