In one month I'm going to in all probability buy an Ubuntu Dell Inspiron
with a display that is 1440 by 900 pixels. I don't want to waste that
space, so I customized my firefox such that /everything/ is in the menu
bar, and there is no naviga
I administrate two laptops and a desktop. All three are affected.
I'm going to wait to try to recreate this bug again until after the
stable Ubuntu release.

I'm wondering that myself, André.
My workaround is to /never/ use the right click menu.. always the
middle mouse button for new tab. 'course, half the time I
accidentally scroll...
I wonder how many people out there are just putting up with this bug..

I've decided that even people with non-colemak layouts may want to try
using caps as backspace. That behavior for the caps lock key needs to
be built in lower, and the actual layout should just leave the key
alone.

As of Tuesday, March 25, 2008, colemak on Ubuntu Hardy still does not
function as documented.
I am now going to spread awareness of this bug amongst other
ubuntu/colemak users in hopes that this gets fixed properly before the
final release of Ubuntu 8.04.

Thanks, andré. I'd use the middle mouse button instead and avoid
right-clicking like the plague because of this bug, but half the time
I try to press the middle mouse button, I scroll it. I'd just click
on links too, with my settings, but when I want to open a link in a

Still here in Firefox3 beta4 on Ubuntu Hardy.
Nattgew: That is correct. This bug makes firefox annoying /and/ inconsistent.
I believe that once it rears its ugly head it can be replicated time
after time after time though.

I have two CRT monitors with a resolution of 1280x1024 at 60fps. When I
use the radeon driver for my Radeon 9200SE PCI, the resolution defaults
to some widescreen res; although i still get graphical output, it isn't
truly usable with 1/4 the screen chopped off..

Either that or have colemak just be for the keys and make a backspace
option for caps lock that is set to true for colemak. That may be much
more elegant a solution.

I'm a colemak typist, and caps lock in ubuntu hardy with colemak
functions as a caps lock /and/ backspace. In colemak, it's a backspace.
I went to just set caps lock behavior to 'off'.. the option wasn't
there. It's really messing

fact of the matter is that GPU support has improved so insanely much
over the last year that until Hardy is released, we're going to be
suffering from many bugs that have long been fixed using the old
version of xorg-xserver that

use the intel integrated GPU, and then set it up correctly for the ATi
one.
