Josh, Istvan, did you tried to remove 70-persistent-net.rules as I suggested? If you keep the old one from gutsy it will not work! It has to be regenerated with the new hardy rules from 75-persistent-net-generator.rules. I've just removed that file and now I have no slowdown. Regarding stability

I've experienced the same problem after upgrading from gusty to hardy a couple of days ago. I've removed 70-persistent-net.rules to force udev to regenerate it and the boot delay disappeared. Maybe old rules cleanup should be automated at upgrade time? -- [Hardy] Intel 3945ABG Long boot delays
