If I try to debug the kernel on boot with these instructions, the Laptop
Network connectivity is established after the bug causes the box to
hang...
...it is not possible to ssh from another machine while the box hangs on
booting.

Same problem here on lenovo laptop W520: 3.5.0-27 hangs on boot,
3.5.0-26 boots fine. Packages are all updated.

After upgrading to Ubunto 9.10 from 9.04 the first thing what happens is
that akonadi server trys to start and crashes after a few second.
See the akonadi self report for details.
Probably due this failing migration process, the touchpad on my lenovo
W500 doesn't work.

Same problem here. Did yesterday install in kubuntu 8.10 kwrite (package
libkcddb1). Since then I have a crashing Plasma. In the attachement

Interesting: removing libkcddb1 doesn't help. After the crash, you can
still work, and calling any application with
