this is still a problem with hardy. i experience exactly the same
symptoms as the original poster--sometimes the install hangs as the
network goes up/down, retrying enough times will fix it. while the true
source of my problems is probably a flaky ethernet driver in the
installer kernel or a netw

this is only a bug in the documentation and is low priority; option
works as designed.
the documentation in /etc/default/aide claims:
# This parameter gives a grep regular expression. If given, all output lines
# that _don't_ match the regexp are
the 10_aide_hostname file does not start with /bin/bash, only /bin/sh.
so perhaps if you ran:
egrep -l "^#!/bin/" * | xargs chmod 755
things would work for you =)

It seems that no file was added by the canon LBP2900 driver. My whole
directory is this:

To get an automatic startup for the LBP 2900 I added simply looked in
/etc/udev/rules.d/
and searched for a rule file containing "lp" to indicate there is already
something about printers in it.
In this case it was the file
/etc/udev/rules.d/85-hpjl10xx.rules
I simply added after the last lin

In addition to bug #200263:
My printer does not work if I connect the LBP 2900 after booting the
system to usb. The printer only works if I connect it to usb AND turn it
on before booting the computer. This bug started with the new update of
cups in the first days of april 2
I am glad someone spotted my duplicate bug report as I did not see this
one, and this one is far more concise.
I am experiencing the same issue with wubi and the 8.04 beta.
Hardware: Toshiba Satellite A135-S467.
