I looked again in my BIOS - I found an option to change the boot order,
changed to the drive that grub and /boot are installed to and the delay
is gone for me now.

I have the same issue - though my Grub loading text lasts for approx 25s
I removed the set quiet and quiet splash - nothing appears to be any
different in any of the log files.
That said I am not really sure which log file would show anything prior
to the menu list being there and me being able
ok - that's cool - I was just checking that I was not missing something
I should have seen.
I did wonder originally if it was the bug/issue where grub and boot were
on different partitions - since then I reinstalled grub to sdb - same
drive as /boot and the rest of the install.

I updated yesterday - including this then rebooted to get the mountall
log.

I've had a couple of reboots since the updates earlier which included
mountall and nfs-common and it appears that the partitions are all being
mounted now by the time the desktop is up.
I still get the error messages during boot however.

Another update today - still gettting this as it tries to install

aah ok then - so at the moment still have to mount them myself after I
get to the desktop - I assume that is not expected behaviour though.

shortly (1.44 secs) after grub starts the boot
cpufreq: No nForce2 chipset
Rest of dmesg appears to be normal - but is available if necessary

Ok so that was a bit of a d'oh moment - if I
sudo cpufreq-selector -g performance
Then it fairly obviously works ok :)
I get current CPU frequency is 2.53 GHz.
BUT on reboot it reverts to the ondemand performance
Also not sure if this is of importance but grep -i nforce

Hi - just a bit of information really, at the moment I don't actually
have any problems with the 96 driver but
On a default installation I was able to install the 96.43.09 driver and
once I'd edited my xorg.conf started properly. After I'd changed the
repos to those for jaunty - nothing was

OK - I tried reinstalling and nothing changes. I've attached a shot of
what it does.
It's a bit of a mess as everything that happens on the desktop get's a
'picture' in the oowriter window.

Ok - if I run soffice from a terminal it opens and I can get to
documnets and they open without problem; also opening a .doc from an
e-mail causes write to start without any issue.
If I make a new launcher for writer or calc etc - they fail to work.
