Yes but the patch has not yet been delivered with ubuntu updates.
I fixed it for me by installing a newer kernel vom the ubuntu mainline ppa:
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v2.6.38.5-natty/

The error message appears close after startup. I don't have to start any
programs to get it. So I don't know what is causing this error.

Tried to install fglrx using the additional drivers program.

Appeared after an update maybe one weak ago. After a reboot the systems freezes
with artefacts. Only solution to fix this was to user the recovery console and
change /etc/X11/xorg.conf driver to ati and removed fglrx.
Installation of fglrx always results in the same error. I can install
