I just had the same problem in the full release of 10.04 when I change the icon for an app in the menu editor it doesn't do anything to the icon used in favorites. My research shows that the problem is that the .desktop files created for the favorites menu ( in ~/.local/share/applications) ONLY

oops, should have put this in as well After I rebooted the laptop I ran dmesg -c to clean the log, then inserted the USB stick (as can be seen in the log) and it worked, I removed it properly, then I hibernated and tried again but this time NOTHING. the output of dmesgdmesg.log is also
