If you look at the history of this bug it has been reported thoroughly
during gutsy. The response has been denial and finger pointing at
Google, but Ubuntu has the only distro of FF (now 3.0 too) where this
behavior happens. You're totally in denial, John Vivrito. metaph3r
posted a perfect strace

I am able to repro this bug in Gutsy . Please reopen.
opening the file with Gedit never displays anything, Gedit becomes
unresponsive, CPU goes to 99%, and after a time I just have to kill
gedit.
The problem seems to be the lack of line endings in the file. I can
open the file in gedit, only if
Unsure how to 'reopen' a bug --sorry if marking it confirmed is not the
right thing. But I have confirmed it.

btw in order to be allowed to upload a crash dump file, you have to put
*something* in the comment field on the first page, so I put huh?
Now your webapp permits me to upload the dump. So here it is. Crash
occured after suspending to memory by closing lid, then reopening, on
