texlive-pstricks also needs a dependency to texlive-extra-utils, because
the auto-pst-pdf latex package from texlive-pstricks needs pdfcrop from
texlive-extra-utils. It took me some time to realise that auto-pst-pdf
needs that script, because there's absolutely no error message...

Tried the very same some days ago, just wanted to patch the kernel/build the
module to support EDAC (Error Detection And Correction) with my Athlon64-X2 and
6GB of ECC-RAM. After kernel and modules were built, all sound related stuff
and some more things
I was just about to report this major restriction, too, and am glad that
you have also reported it.
As I see it, creating such a dialogue should be an easy, but absolutely
urgent and necessary task. Ubuntu is still lacking some standard
features that can be *very* annoying, and among these I
backup
from April was erased, only 2 from April remaining now!

When watching videos on youtube, all other applications that need sound are
blocked in a manner, so that they can not play any audio at all.
I.e. when I watch a video on youtube, it is not possible at all to have music

I have the same problem, and it is *extremely* annoying.
Since I store my photos and music on an external HDD, this makes it virtually
impossible to use a program like Rhythmbox or FSpot.

good. kernel 2.6.22-14-generic.

This is definitely a severe security issue and should be solved for the
release of Hardy:
Currently one can unlock 'users-admin' as a normal user and even edit
the existing root-account!
Feisty and also Debian-Lenny handle this correctly.

users-admin ignores setting in /etc/sudoers
then policykit does not respect existing true root-accounts and
policykit itself is a security risk!

Are you sure you don't need s2both? s2both is included in the latest
uswsusp / μswsusp
s2both (like s2disk) is useless for me:
writing my 6GB of ECC-RAM to disk takes by far longer than shutdown and reboot!
For what did I invest in ECC-RAM and a UPS?
