Bug confirmed on Dell Studio 1555 with ATI Radeon HD 4570.
I tried the patch from the PPA, but it resulted in a blank screen after
bootup... I wanted to reinstall the unpatched version from Ubuntu, but it
doesn't work! I commented out the deb entries in the sources.list, made an
apt-get update
Thanks, installing the proprietary ATI once again fixed it (but apt-get
upgrade doesn't help... had to a apt-get install xserver-xorg-
core=2:1.6.0-0ubuntu14 xserver-common=2:1.6.0-0ubuntu14 to get the
original X-Server versions back).
So I have a running 3D Desktop now, that takes 1 to 3 seconds
