you can update your usb and pci ids using :
sudo update-usbids
sudo update-pciids
your lsusb and lspci commands should give better results

I have same problem with my dell e6410
the goal of update-usbids was too show more details in lsusb command.
can you check for the model of your fingerprint reader by typing sudo lsusb
mine is :
