ok so the problem doesn't seem to have gone away, it just seems to be
intermintant but seems to be happening not only to the restart but
shutdown aswell, i have noticed a few factors that might might not be
relevant, on startup my usb mobile braodband device won't mount and the
sound hadware is
ok was after the first update however after i updated the system a while
ago it now seems to be working as normal.
