[Bug 139832] Re: [gutsy] rt61 wireless stops working after several minutes

2007-12-31 Thread karamalz
@ NoWhereMan, I used the drivers from the official Ralink site (ralinktech.com), which can be found in Support/Windows. The right package is called PCI/mPCI/CB(RT256x/RT266x) It is quite big, cause there a lot of windows tools in it, but i did not found the interesting rt61.inf and rt61.sys

I also switched to the (disappointing) solution Ndiswrapper to get my rt61 based interface working. This is very foolish because there are two open source drivers availible for this card, but both doesn't work stable. The ndiswrapper solution works quite ok, but I hope that, at least for hardy, we

Public bug reported: I have a lot of trouble with my ralink pci wlan card. NetworkManager scanns flawlessly, and asks me for the key (WEP) when trying to connect, but then completely freezes my system, only a hard reboot is possible. I found out that switching from mixed mode to 802.11b solves

I resolved my problem with the rt61 driver by switching to the 386 kernel and the system is rock-solid again. As the 386 Kernel isn't build with CONFIG_SMP this is just a work-around for people using old cpu's wich don't need the SMP feature. Of course this is not a solution to the problem as the

I also can confirm this problem. A Ralink pci card 00:09.0 Network controller: RaLink RT2561/RT61 802.11g PCI is driven by the rt61 driver. I have a 32bit single core system, so I don't think that the problem is SMP related. Same problems here: The system freezes completly from one second to
