Dropping in to say that this bug is affecting me as well. I am running
a touchscreen tablet PC without a builtin keyboard. Login not possible
with passwords that have a capital letter or symbol that requires the
shift key.

I wanted to get my two cents in so this bug doens't die off. I have the
same problem here. fglrx packages being removed when any version of
wine is being installed. Kubuntu 14.10 64-bit.

HP Envy 15 3033cl Radeon HD 7690M, same issue. Was working fine with
Ubuntu 12.04, did a distro update to 12.10, through the console.
During boot it would automatically drop to the console, no GUI
whatsoever. Tried re installing from a clean install, like many others
