Thank you both, this fixed the issue. Looking back at my log post I see
the folders.db file shown just before the error message. Even though
there seem to be ..if not exist create.. statements even if I was sure
it would be re-created I would not deleted it because I do not know the

I burned a LiveCD Jaunty 9.04 Alpha 5 and reboot with the LiveCD :
1/ when i boot with the option Try Ubuntu without any change to your computer
everything work fine. All the hard disk are OK.
2/ When i boot with the option Boot from first hard disk, i got the same
problem.
