Binary package hint: likewise-open
I had this problem since version 5 (stable version 5.3 manually
installed, 5.4 from lucid repositories, 5.4 from ppa) and now also with
the recent version 6.
I can reproduce the problem easily: Likewise open works without problem
until i
In both cases (enabling/disabling New MS Logon option) vinagre does not
connect.
It does not connect both providing local or domain username/password.
But in all cases ultravnc viewer can connect.
If more details are needed, i am available.

Cannot connect to MS-LOGON ultravnc server
As workaround, it seems the only solution is providing the mount command with
the additional options dir_mode=0777,file_mode=0777.

I disabled the New MS Logon but i still cannot connect.
It prompts me username and password, i write the win user/pwd (not a domain
user, but local user),
but immediatly i get an authentication error box.
Debugging:
vinagre --gtk-vnc-debug
gtk-vnc: Expose 0x0 @ 438,402
gtk-vnc: Started
Problem remains in ubuntu 10.04 final.
A workaround is to mount manually the share in gnome (gvfs) through
Places/Connect
and then create a symlink to the .gvfs mount point.
I don't know if the problem is samba, likewise-open or ubuntu ...
