Guys my intention was to install usplash from debian sid repos. So I did remove ubuntus splashy and tried to install usplash but with no success due to above mentioned dpkg and lsb init error I repeat the installtation was incomplete, but inspite I that I have a working ubuntu splashy even though

Public bug reported: Binary package hint: splashy HI i wanted to install splashy from debian sid repos but couldn't install it due to an error. I know it is not good to mix repos with other distros but just gave it a try. The attempt to install didn't go well according to terminal-output. I
