It look like this is an issue with the kernel included in natty.
I have replaced the kernel with
linux-image-2.6.38-7-generic_2.6.38-7.39~lucid1_amd64.deb an now the connection
works fine.

In Lucid the issue is slightly different. It doesn't show any message on
TV however the screen is black all the time but there is some signal
because there is no "No Signal" message. Let me know if you need any

I think the issue still persist even on Lucid.
I have just installed today's cdimage of Lucid and everything was going
smoothly until installation of fglrx.
Then the screen went white (after log off) and I only could power off my PC.
After reboot all I got is the splash screen with new Ubuntu logo

I'm afraid I have the same problem but on windows xp vm on Karmic kvm i386.
VM installs correctly and seems to work correctly however when I map physical
