Gutsy is an overall improvement on my Lenovo 3000 V100: plugging in
headphones now mutes the speakers :)

I have the same issue on a Lenovo 3000 V100 running feisty, and google
search suggests that other laptops using the chip have the same issue.
Any chance this could be fixed in feisty?

The built-in apps cannot play sound on a Lenovo 3000 V100 notebook
(07632LU).

Fixed by enabling modem in bios. So, perhaps not a bug after all.
