I'm not seeing any phantom buttonpresses in exev when I have the problem

Yes, It still occurs occasionally. I haven't been able to use a usb
mouse yet. running xev just shows a window with a black box in it.
What should I look for when running xev?

No, the problem also happens when I use the nub in the middle of the
keyboard. Even if it was by error the gedit program shouldnt be able to
be moved around the screen just by mousing over any part of the window.
I'll see if taking a screencast later shows the problem any better

The bug only affects gedit. Could it be something in gedit is not
detecting releasing a click? I can post any config files or settings to
help debug this.

Thanks for the reply, I enabled apport and restarted but when rhythmbox
crashes nothing shows up in /var/crash. can you reopen this bug or did i
miss something with apport?
