The error in the log on top is about non power of two textures
support. I really doubt that is required for Composite. from my PoV,
gnome-wm is been lazy and greedy... and after all having good GL support
will soon be a *requirement* to run Ubuntu.

Karmic's livecd worked fine, fixed at 54Mb/s... but now Lucid is doing
well too o_O
As I'm no longer experiencing the issue, you can just close the ticket

(fully updated) and it mostly stays at 1Mb/s but some times goes up to
18.. for some seconds it even reaches 54Mb/s, but then it falls down to
