New information. After today's (7/9/08) Microsoft patches, it is now possible
to boot into Ubuntu.
Ubuntu still does not show up on the boot menu; however, if I set Ubuntu to be
the default OS
and I restart the system, it does boot into Ubuntu. Bizarre, but at least it is
now mostly working.
