No, I've not uninstalled VirtualBox, I'll do what you suggest, just
please confirm if what I'm going to do is OK:
- Unistall VirtualBox
- Uninstall the v3.7-rc2-quantal kernel that I've just installed
- Reboot
- Reinstall the v3.7-rc2-quantal kernel
- Reboot
And then run this v3.7
Additional info:
While installing the 3.7.0-030700rc2-generic kernel I got an error:

The problem persists. I've used the v3.7-rc2-raring, maybe it's my fault
for using a different kernel, I'll download the right ones (quantal) and
try again.
For what is worth, I'm attaching the relevan part of kern.log.

Thanks Chris, today I've installed the 3.7-rc2-quantal packages, I got
some errors while installing because VirtualBox complains about being
not able to update modules with DKMS, and on system login I got an
error:

Since 12.04 my PC freezes in a random fashion. Sometimes with a
"Chrome_SafeBrow Tainted: G ", others the same message but mentioning
Firefox, other with "Java" and in other I've not paid attention to the
message show, as it's quite frustrating since it's my development
machin

We've tried to upgrade from 7.10 to 8.04 and stalls in the "generating
locales en au.utf-8" message, in two computers. this seems to be a
