I'm also having this issue on a AOD250 / KAV60. It uses the same
chipset ALC272. How can I force alsa to force detect a different
chipset? I have tried using all alsa options and nothing work. I want

after doing further testing with another router and using various
settings, I have revised the bug description due to recent findings
that suggest that if a static IP is used the wifi indicator does not
work correctly.
Currently using lucid with the most recent kernel and most recent
broadcom
As a workaround, I will replace the Broadcom wifi card due to its poor
performance compared to Intel and Atheros, that works very well in any
platform.

It's not the kernel upgrade you did that may be causing this. I'm using
the default kernel, 2.6.31-16, I also experience the same bug. But this
