well here is what happened. I installed the packages and rebooted
without a dsdt fix. My modem would not work. when i ran hsfconfig it
said that the driver does not support custom kernels and i would have to
buy a new driver. so i guess im without wound for now :( if it comes to
internet or

have no problem doing the 2.6.23 thingi just can because i need to
internet for work and family. nim living far from home and need to talk

well i missed a couple of posts.
i never did try the Debian thing, i have been busy with a site that needs done
and have not got around to doing much other than hoping to see how to fix this
bug. You would think this driver would work because yes it is all linux but
for some reason the

well i have a live cd of Debian that i downloaded the other day. but im
having problems booting itkeep getting errors just like ubuntu (but
to start ubuntu live cd's i can just use safe graphics mode).

this dude is totally crazy of what but its worth checking out i think MAYBE. i
asked the guy to give more info about his system so when he does ill let you
