I upgraded to karmics versions of xorg xorg's intel drivers and drm. I
don't know which package fixed the problem, only that it did. I am now
experiencing a freeze after the screen is turned off from being idle.
not a big deal I just need to suspend instead of leaving and letting the
screen turn
And I get an occasional compiz crash which I was experiencing before and
is probably a different bug.

I'm experiencing this bug too. It's freezing with and without effects,
exa uxa and xaa, it froze durring a login, it realy is random the
underlying system seems to work because hard drive activity continues,
music continues to play etc. caps lock light won't come on during a lock
up though. Are
