Public bug reported:

i downloaded the iso Unbuntu 6.10 for amd64 and installed it on my HDD
SATA 80GB(no windows on this drive), after the installation done, when i
start my PC, the loading stopped at Waiting for root file.

Loading essential driver.... OK
Mounting root file.......
Waiting for root file......

after 5-10 mins it switch me to terminal with alert "/dev/sda1 does not exist, 
drop to shell"
here is my fdisk information:
