Public bug reported:
My Mouse sometimes jumps from left to right and presses down the right and left
buttons. Restarting helps. It opens apps and i am unable to use the computer.
Prospekt Mail refuses to open.
ProblemType: Bug
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 20.04
Package: xorg 1:7.7+19ubuntu14
Unfortunately, I don't have the VAIO anymore. But I remember that some
kernel daemon seemed to be the cause of it and updating the kernel fixed
it, so I am pretty sure this can be closed.

I can confirm this bug. I upgraded my ubuntu from maverick to natty
yesterday and my settings in unity won't survive a relogin. I also get
this warning when starting several programs from command line.

SOLVED!!:
Hi I just read some thread in a gentoo forum and it seems as if glib needs
dconf to store settings.
So I just manually installed dconf-tools, libdconf0 and libdconf-dbus-1-0
and now it works.
I think this is just a missing dependancy for either glib or unity.
SOLUTION:
sudo apt-get

Hello Giuseppe,
seems like I have found the problem. While testing, I did
disable ECM on the Cisco gateway (dial-peer). After re-
enabling ECM everything does work as expeceted.
Thanks

Hello Giuseppe,
I've tested the new packages yesterday evening and the segfault seems
to have gone :-)
Unfortunately I was still not able to resceive my twelve pages test facsimile
from a software fax solution. I have tried several times but always got the
following error message in the logs:
Not for me, my notebook has Intel graphics...

I downloaded ubuntu 9.10 amd 64Bit, two times and checked the disc without any
errors. At the time, installation is almost finished (94%), I become the error
message --Can't install the grub-pc Packet in the /target/ folder.--
I had already a 9.10 amd 64 bit installed and everything worked
I can no longer reproduce the crash. I accessed it in terminal, moved
the files to other places and deleted the folder. That is, I found a
solution that worked for me.
