This is truly unfortunate -- my little media server started off life as an Ubuntu Server 17.04 _Zesty Zapus_ VM, but has been working for years now as 18.04.x and recently failed an upgrade to 20.04 i believe (at least in part) due to this nagging issue. I'm not able to work around it with my limited skillset, unfortunately. At a loss, probably going to have to rebuild my entire media server. Just wanted to chime in that this has been a persistent issue for quite some time. Lesson learned, will stick to LTS releases for my major appliances moving forward.
