The test case I used is visible at the mysql bug page

There's a lot of text but it's relatively simple step (the offending one
is towards the end so you might want to just skip straight there)

Please read my description of the problem, I think you'll agree it's
certainly not a bios problem - i'm still using -12 generic to stop my
system shutting down (randomly?)
It could only be a bios problem if -13 was the first one to actually
start checking the system temp maybe?

kernel
Confirming this still occurs in 2.6.20-15 for me - I randomly get board
temp exceeded 100C, shutting down messages and have to use -12 to stop
this happening

kernel 2.6.20-xx incorrectly claims processor overheating

You received this bug notification
I have a similar problem using 2.6.20-13-generic - after about an hour
of running, the kernel will claim the CPU has reached 100C and shut
the machine down, this does not happen with 2.6.20-12-generic and below.

Is anyone able to confirm whether this worked with today's daily? I'm
hoping to get a command line install on my P5B with software RAID
somehow - presumably i can install desktop and strip out all the rubbish
if I have to (if the alternate cd is not working yet)
Cheers,

Can anyone tell us which cd images ARE currently working? Would be
immensely helpful to all i'm sure..

From what i've seen the kernel is uploaded, which means it will be
available from the edgy repositories very shortly, if not already. After
that it will take a few days to make it into a daily CD - i would
estimate Monday at the latest without pretending to know a lot about the
process.

Confirmed as broken in today's daily build - gah!

the fix, what other information can I offer?

Hi Ben,
Thanks for getting back, unfortunately I don't have another machine with
SATA II support available so I'm stuck waiting for the daily CD/DVD
images assuming there's no guide on how to build my own install cd with
your kernels?

It's worth noting that the majority of these Asus P5B Motherboards ship
with an unsupported ethernet card, so even a network install is out of
the question!
If anyone has drives that are not SATA, which is one of the things i've
seemed to encounter problems with, you can use the instructions for
According to the changelists the fix IS included in the daily build of
the 20th.. unfortunately it doesn't appear to work (confirmed with three
other people)
If anyone has any success with this please post here - otherwise it
looks like it's back to the drawing board Chuck! :s

JMicron
This is NOT fixed in Edgy Knot 3, there also seems to be some sort of
halt on the release of daily builds from before when Chuck submitted his
fix - what a pain!
I'm hoping daily builds resume soon and I can get a daily install CD
which hopefully will have chuck's patch!

JMicron PATA/SATA
This change hasn't made it into the changelogs yet, there seem to be a
*lot* of us waiting for this, I for one am sitting here with a
completely useless system as once i've got past the CDROM problem (by
booting from USB disk), my SATA 2s aren't then recognised!
Do you know when this package will
