Ubuntu 20.04 LTS.
Last available for download 5.4.0-54. No new karnel updates are
detected. I'm confused because of what "Kevin Tang (dacto) wrote on
2020-11-25: #25" wrote. Not only because of new kernels available
5.4.71!? Realy? And how long can it take when 5.4.0-55 is available?
Years? OMG That's very bad news for me.

I'm experiencing identical problem with HP Pavilion 11 x360. For me,
still only solution is to use kernel version -42. Installing 5.4.0-51
didn't solve the issue. Anyone know is solution is planed by Ubuntu
team?

Unfortunately I don't even have the entries that jtrupp mentioned in his
post. My system is still broken. Funny thing is, it's a fresh install,
therefore I have no software to work with...

Томица, you have to open up terminal and:
1. sudo gedit /boot/grub/menu.lst
2. Find there a line which starts with GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT and add
before the ending quotation mark acpi_osi=Linux
3. save the file
4. sudo update-grub
And that's it. It should work, when you'll restart computer.
I'm very sorry. I made a mistake writing the description as I wrote how to do
it in earlier versions of Ubuntu. The only way to enable it is editing
/etc/default/grub as that is the file responsible for default boot options.
Linux and Linux mean exactly the same. It's just tidier.
One more time,
It affects also Acer Aspire 5738.

Hey! Linux must be written between quotation marks, not between apostrophes.
acpi_osi=Linux does work.
