I found that it is the calendar widget which creates this high load.
Steps to reproduce:
- create a new user
- log into KDE using this new user
- add system monitor - CPU widget to the panel
you should see that the system load is low
- add Calendar widget to the panel
= the system load goes up

All updated kernels starting from 2.6.24-14 are failed too boot the system (it

I tried the latest .27 Intrepid-kernel but the problem still persists.
But there exist patches against mainline kernel to fix this bug.

I think this bug might be a duplicate of bug #146692 which describes the freeze
on a Samsung Q45.
On the q45 the last message before the freeze is the ricoh-message as well,
but the freeze is caused by the module video.ko.
It would be interesting to know which graphics hardware is build into

After loading the kernel several Fn-keys stop doing their job.
In bios-screen or grub they work fine.
When presssing these keys I get Use 'setkeycodes xxx ...' to make it
known messages
