Thanks for the information. Unfortunately, I have returned the laptop
and no longer have access to the information requested. I don't know if
Gateway has fixed the problem.

doesn't bode well with the eyes.
Is there an command line option to reduce brightness that works for

There is a problem with the backlight control. The hotkeys splashes the
backlight adjust screen and the backlight can be adjusted. The backlight
value also gets updated when a xrandr --props is done. However, there is
