Fan speed is also frozen on HP 6830s an xubuntu 14.04. I downgraded to
13.10 and everything was working again.

Switching resolutions (such as going full screen resets my gamma to
1.0
I am not sure but I think it has something to do with the panel. In two
occasions the gamma switched from .7 back to 1 and the date and time
disappeared from the panel. I was not able to restore the date and time
without reboot.

Same here my laptop is constantly hot. Load is very high compared to

There is even more buggy in the brightness settings. When I go to
battery power the screen dims. This is ok, but when i go back to main
power the screen wil dim even more instead to return to normal level of
brightness.
