I've been helping plenty of people over on the forums who

In my case, the bug doesn't appear until I install Vbox Guest Additions.
The non-free Vbox 3.14 itself is fine under the 2.6.32-16 32-bit kernel.
So I'd be very surprised if vbox-ose showed any problems. I'll try to
check it out.

After the 03-11 kernel update (I think it was 2.6.32-16-25??) the
constant crashes seemed to be resolved. However, as soon as I tried to
implement vbox guest additions, they came back.
So, at least in my case, the problem has something to do with the
interaction of the kernel and vbox guest
I'm a mere user, I have no idea whether this is exactly the bug I have.
But the title here is exactly the error message. When filling out the

I hate to keep being the wet blanket here, but . . . my /etc/hosts file
looks okay (127.0.0.1 localhost, 127.0.1.1 my hostname). But I
continue to have the gksu problem. It affects not just the upgrade

password hangs up at that
NoOp: $gksu id doesn't work doing anything I've tried, including ctrl-c
followed by another gksu id. I've also tried opening another terminal
window just for the hell of it. I haven't tried doing it outside the
GUI altogether.
(What does work, just to reiterate, is $sudo synaptic and then using
$gksu id does not work for me either. Same thing: starting

[hardy] screensaver fails to start and screen fails to completely black
After the most recent updates, I'm having the same problem. Worked fine
before, then around May 10th I turned screensaving off because I needed

I should add that I'm using Hardy, and have ATI Mobility Radeon 7500

I too use Simple Backup, but I'm not sure the problem is as Jan Rybka
says. In my case, it's not just background jobs without notices. gvfs-

the partition is

This is a major problem since it prevents any operation that wants to

that one of my network drives is in my root partition. That makes it

If it's been fixed, why in hell do I have a pathetically small file
