I tried several suggestions from this thread and others, without
success. I performed a fresh install with 9.10 and it's now working.
Since the fresh install I have used apt-get instead of aptitude. I've
had some problems with aptitude in the recent past with upgrades, not
sure if this was cause
After upgrading to 9.10, my HP 5L on my parallel port no longer works.
