The system is logging constant attempts to trun the fan on but seemingly to no avail. I do not even know if it is a HP bug or a Ubuntu bug. My computer is a HP Pavilion a610n. The fan had worked with Windows XP so I believe the problem is communication between the OS and the computer. --
