I forgot to say that I'm using Kubuntu Maverick with Kde 4.5.2. I solved it for
Okular but I still have problems in Acroread. I guess it is related and I don't

NetworkManager only waits 40 seconds for the VPN to come up. This is too
short when using a slow connection as for instance a 64kbps GPRS
connection.
Calling openvpn manually also timeouts sometimes with the default
timeout

Volume control keys do not work reliably on my netbook (Coolbox QBook
270-02).
Those keys are pressed as a combination of Fn + right and Fn + left.
When I press any of them, sometimes they are ignored, sometimes they generate

Actually, I had to downgrade to nvidia 180 because nvidia 185.18.31 had a bug
in my laptop and X didn't start at all. However, nvidia had another bug for
this driver and X crashed for some applications like smplayer, kaffeine,
kdevelop... whenever, for instance I opened the open file window,
