not fixed. I am running the new feisty release now on my laptop, but
without sound. While this is not so problematic in itself, the problem
comes when a program tries to play a sound (like any game). This will

No indeed,
I have upgraded my laptop to the development version of feisty some time
ago and after one of the many upgrades (that included alsa files), sound
was working again and everything is just great once again!

I just tried with Edgy Knot 3 and it is still identically the same
problem. I am also not quite sure if the importance should be at low;
this bug prevents me from booting the install cd, and prevents me from
