One way that I've found to regain mouse clicks is to enable "Mouse Keys" and move the cursor with the mouse keys for a second or two. It seems to beat the mouse back into submission for at least a little while. You guys should consider yourselves lucky though. I run synergy on my machine and probably 1 in 3 times that I move between systems I'll lose mouse clicks. It happens at least 50 times a day.
