Thanks. The .iso approach doesn't do the cool wubi-thing where Ubuntu
is running in a large file under Windows and is uninstallable, does it?

This problem began right after automatic update to Firefox 3.0.3 on Ubuntu 8.04
I tried to open the About box just now and it was shrunk to a little button,
which if you resize was a blank popup window.
