Seeing the exact same issue here with a dual-monitor nvidia system.
Todd's suggestions don't help in my own case as it appears the window is
not actually open in any workspace--the only way to review pending
changes seems to be to explicitly quit Update Manager and relaunch it
manually.

Agree with @29 @32 -- the privacy implications of this change are
exceedingly obvious and should have been sufficient to prevent the
feature being included by default in 12.10. If this was implemented as
an opt-in feature, I can't imagine any strong opposition, but while *I*
may know how to
